Exercise Physiology At The Henry

Published

Exercise is an important part of healthy living for everyone and for a wide variety of health conditions, such as Parkinson’s Disease. Exercise should be a key component of our daily lives. A tailored exercise program specific to the Parkinson’s symptoms that present from individual to individual has been shown and backed by research to relieve some of the motor pattern symptoms as well as maintain balance, function, mobility and daily living activities.

Exercise has also been shown in some cases to slow the progression of Parkinson’s. Exercises include balance, mobility, strength training, and cardiovascular training to target all aspects of health and maintain function as we age.

An exercise physiologist specialises in creating a tailored program for you based on your specific experience and symptoms with Parkinson’s disease.

The Henry has partnered with TM Physio to provide our residents with exercise physiology services, which can be carried out in the comfort of your home or at our Clubhouse facility.  Our residents can also join the group exercise classes run at The Henry.
