Excursions With The Henry
This year, The Henry has headed out for a few excursions. In March, we visited the Jeffrey Smart Exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia. A wonderfully knowledgeable guide took us around the exhibit and taught us all there was to know about the artist and his life. It was a fascinating day out for the residents. Afterwards, we headed down to the Café for further discussions about all we saw.
Our most recent excursion was to the Shakespeare to Winehouse exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, it was breathtaking. While the National Portrait Gallery London underwent a renovation of its building, 80 treasures from its collection travelled to Australia for this exclusive exhibition. Our guide this time had us hanging on to every word she said and we all learnt so many fascinating facts about the collection and its artists.
This is just the beginning of many excursions The Henry will be organising for its residents.
